Essential oils are natural plant extracts that provide a combination of desired smell and therapeutic benefits. With the GCMS system, we are able to ensure consistency in the quality of our BREATHE® essential oils :
-
Analytical equipment / technique that uses temperature and gas to provide a breakdown of each and every known properties in the essential oil.
-
GCMS is used to detect each and every known content through variable temperature. Each properties have different temperature boiling points.
-
Once a property is identified, the GCMS then translates to its chemical structure (data form) e.g Menthol, a well-known ingredient that exists in peppermint oil
-
When peppermint oil is injected into the GCMS, the machine will detect its presence through its chemical structure / formula as C10H200 and identify it to be a chemical known as 5-Methyl-2-Isopropylcyclohexanol
-
The GCMS then goes on to detect a chemical found in the oil, again through a different boiling point with a chemical structure / formula as C10H180 better known as Trans-5-Methyl-2-Isopropylcyclohexanone and in layman terms, is called Menthone.
